AXA Global Healthcare
A source-based guide to AXA's international health insurance: five cover levels, optional upgrades, geographic choice, services and published limitations.
AXA Global Healthcare's international product is designed for people living or travelling abroad who want private healthcare for routine and emergency needs. This page concerns AXA Global Healthcare only, not a separate regional AXA product.

Core benefits and services
- Emergency medical cover and cancer treatment, subject to the selected plan's terms.
- Medical evacuation and repatriation.
- Virtual Doctor consultations delivered through Teladoc Health.
- Mind Health support.
- Second Medical Opinion for an independent review of a diagnosis or treatment plan.
Geography and cost options
Applicants can choose whether their area of cover includes the USA. AXA also offers a per-person excess: the member pays up to the agreed amount when claiming in exchange for a lower premium. Outpatient treatment and routine dental care are offered as upgrades. Availability and exact terms are confirmed during application.
Claims and direct payment
AXA says it can often pay a provider directly. Its current page also reports that 83.2% of eligible online claims submitted from January to December 2025 were paid within two days when all required information was provided. That is AXA's dated service statistic, not an independently verified average approval time and not a guarantee for an individual claim.
Exclusions and limitations
- The published product page says the plans are designed for conditions beginning after joining and do not cover pre-existing conditions.
- Charges must be usual and customary for the country of treatment.
- Treatment outside the selected area, or against medical advice, is excluded.
- Injuries from sports for which the member is paid and incidental treatment-arrangement costs are listed exclusions.
